Melted RV roof vent HELP

Anyone have issues with the interior roof vent melting from heat? We live in Las Vegas, RV was covered, and we hit over 100 degrees. I found them completely warped, etc. We easily hit 117 degrees every year. I did have a evaporative (swamp) cooler set up to keep it cool, but stopped using it because we were storing it. This RV is at our house, so I could setup the cooler again to keep it cooler inside. Just afraid I will have to replace these every year, or remove them before storage...

That doesn't look good at all. Reckon the cover itself is compounding the heat issue and causing them to melt?

WOW, never saw that before. Do you leave your vents open a little to let heat out? I have covers on ours and leave them open about a 1/2 inch. Not sure how much it helps, but I feel better! What do you cover it with? Can it let the hot air escape?

What cover are you using? Have you tried a vent pillow? They are a peice of foam wrappednin fabrick that fits inside the 14" opening of the vent.

There were metal replacement covers in the past, don't know if they're still available but would prevent annual replacement.
The drawback might be though if it's getting that hot under that cover the metals would melt holes in the cover.

Thumbs up Thanks everyone!!

Thanks for the replies!! So we did have those insulated inserts, with sheepskin on one side and reflectix on the other. We have come to the decision that the reflectix reflected too much heat back into the the space. The roof vents were not open.... I have since opened the vents about a 1/2 inch and no more distortion of the plastic. We are chalking this one up to our fault. Next summer it won't matter because I will be connecting an evaporative (swamp) cooler through the rear window and opening both roof vents.... It just got too hot for my taste in the RV, I've been monitoring with as sensor connected to my weather station and have seen temps up to 130 degrees!!! And that's not with a high degree day, like 117 degrees...
