Gray Water

I have a 2020 Keystone Cougar 29BHS. Is there a way to fill the gray water tank other than running the faucet?

Out of curiosity….why do you want to fill the gray tank up? Or are you trying to figure out why it’s fuller then you think it should be?

Yes, the sensor is showing water in the tank but it is empty. I’m told I should fill it up, drive a while with the water in the tank in the hopes that the movement of the water while driving can unclog the sensor.

The sensors are notoriously faulty..I think I read where you can use dawn dish soap to help clean… do a search on tank sensors on the forum.. I guess if you were careful you could use a hose to fill up in shower drain.

If the gray tank is reading wrong try this:

Run your water heater until it reaches temp and shuts off. Squeeze a copious amount of DAWN ULTRA BLUE into a sink with the stopper. Fill the sink 1/2 way to mix the detergent. Open the drain and run straight HOT water until the tank is full. The water will run lukewarm after a bit, but the key is hot water. Fill the tank as full as you can get it. Let it sit overnight, and then drain.

I’m currently batting .999

Now this is just seat of the pants but forget the sensors, "do your thing" and let the gray tanks fill up. Log the timeframe, number of folks etc. In a short period of time you will find that those sensors are 1) useless, 2) impossible to keep accurate and 3) in a bit of time you will know what is full and/or filling by the sound and timeframe that has passed. I don't use them and only tried once when they first came out and don't have the patience to mess with trying to "make" them look correct.....for a day.
