BAL AccuSlide Manual Override Shaft

Trying to prepare for the time when I need to use the manual flexible override shaft on the slide-out "cable system" but can not locate the flexible shaft.

I think that I have found it clipped to the motor (via touch only) but not sure since you have to remove the entire slide-out valance fully see it.

Anybody have any ideas?

The BAL part number is P854775.

Thanks ...... Don

When your slide is in you should be able to see over the top of the one that is next to your door. If so you should be able to confirm that it's clipped to the motor. We have one for every motor, though I thought they were in a drawer but it's possible they were placed there during pdi.

Mine came in the blue zipper pouch that had all warranties and manuals in it.

Ours was loose in the RV.
They look like something between a 1/4 and 3/8 socket extension, about 6" long. Chrome. Hex end. I'd assume they would spin if put in the motor, I don't think you could miss them.

On our Passport, the dealership told me that I should buy one from them.. I asked why since BAL put one with every slide, dealer said no they don't but we'll sell you one. Last time I ever shop there.

Mine also came in the bag with the manuals. If you open your slide only half way you get a great view of the motor and all the cables. You should be able to see if it is there without removing the valance.

Thank you all who posted.

As suggested, I took out the slides half out and was able to see the motor which had the "manual flexible override shaft" nylon wire tied to it. I cut the ties and all is now good since I have the shafts.

Now all I have to do is remember where I put them whenever I need them.

Thanks again ..... Don
