Repacking wheel bearings

So, going into my third year with the 23RB I figured time to properly repack the wheel bearings. Camper has probably 5,000 km on it the past two summers. Last spring I had thoughts of doing it but ended up just using the grease gun and shot grease through the grease nipple while spinning the wheel. To be honest I could not get the bearing buddy off of the hub in order to pull the drum off. From previous experience on a few boat trailers I have owned I used a large set of channel locks and tried wiggling the brg buddy out. No go on these ones. Is there a trick to it or was I not putting enough elbow grease into it? Gotta be done this year.
Thanks,
Dave

Often times a slight tap with a hammer as you pull on the cap works. I have often times spun the wheel and done the tap/pull in a few different spots.
