red algae roof stains live with it or ?

I just got through washing my 40" toy hauler. I use simple green because it is safe for the roof, sides, and my flesh. the simple green does a good job but there are and have been stains from the ac. upon research dicor says to use tilex for mold/ mildew. my stains look like a red algae. do I live with it or is this something I need to be concerned about?

My understanding is that the mold and algae black or red spotting on the roof while looking unsightly is not harmful to the PEDM rubber roof. I have black spots that will not come out but will turn a dull gray colour when being cleaned. It seems that these black mold spots are very resistant and have proven to be very difficult if not impossible to remove. They seem to be there permanently and I have not noticed any deterioration of the roof over the past few years so I have pretty much given up worrying about them.

Not great to look at when up there but the roof looks spotless from ground level.

Remember the "white" portion of the EPDM roof is a sacrificial layer to protect the black rubber underneath. Everytime you wash it, scrub it and put caustic chemicals on it you take a bit of it off. Just look at the bottom of your shoes after you have been up walking on it.

Hose it off and maybe use some 303 protect and a few times a year, that's it.

Those algea stains wont hurt anything.

thanks

the good thing is that my raptor is a indoor rv, unless on the road. the ac and darkness probably contribute to the algae. the roof is still nice and white, except for the stains. I will continue and live with it.
as for the 303 protectant is it epdm safe? half of the crap the rv places want to sell have petroleum distillates in them (a major roof no no)? its why I use simple green no distillates, no citrus anything ,and no bleach. and simple green really works well on the fiberglass too. I blew a o ring on the freightliner and pumped 5 gallons of oil out on the way home and yes it was all down the sides. it made my raptor look new.

Yes, 303 is compatible with EPDM.
