awning tightening

I had a deck roof put on my camper and the people who built it accidently hit the down roll on the awning and loosened the awning. My problem is the awning now sits behind two 4x4 posts so I cant roll it all the way down .Is there any way to tighten it up?

If your trying to roll it back up, just hold onto the fabric tube and flip the lever. You may have to rotate the tube just enough to take the pressure off the lever, and be careful as the awning is going to want to roll up. You don't have to have the fabric all the way one way or the other.

If your trying to keep the fabric out at its present "set" then the braces need to come out to the ends. The trouble comes in that since the fabric isn't fully extended, as you try to put tension on the roller tube, it's going to want to unroll more.

Maybe a cord (rope) from the roller tube ends to the ground may give enough tension, but you would have to be careful not to pull enough to ratchet another click.

Let air out of your tires.
