How to run the Splendide washer dryer vent in a Montana Mountaineer 347THT?
I have a 2011 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 347THT fifth wheel toy hauler. I just bought a Splendide WD 2100XC washer/dryer combo, vented.
The washer/dryer prep is in the closet in the bedroom. See the attached floor plan.
What I'm trying to figure out is: How to run the 4" dryer vent duct behind the w/d to the outside, because it's really, really cramped inside the laundry closet. There is literally 1" of space to work with the back of w/d, so I'll probably have to get the Splendide 90-degree close-wall elbow, but that still may take up too much room.
I know I have to drill a 4" hole to the outside and install a vent cover, sealant, don't hit any studs, etc.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to run the 4" vent duct behind the w/d when there is just no space. The laundry closet is shaped like a wedge, but the narrowest point only gives me about 1" of space between the back of the unit and closet wall.
I'm thinking of cutting out a channel in the back panel of the laundry closet to make a "pocket" to stuff the elbow and duct into, if there's enough space in there.
Did you have a similar problem? How did you do it?
