Personally I check my roof before/after every trip and inspect the sealing on the unit too. Even then I was surprised by a problem on our past 5 week trip! So the question. On window seals is there suppose to be silicone on the top?
The reason I ask... We have never encountered downpours like we have had on this trip to Florida. While sitting through the first I previously noted (and posed pictures in here) of water running down the inside wall of our slide. The next day when it cleared/dried the only thing I could find was that although they "looked sealed" with the window sealing tape, they possibly could leak. I ran a bead of silicone on the top edge of the window around each corner and down about 4-6" as prescribed in some online video. The problem seems to be solved.
Later in the trip I noticed a bubbling around the interior dinette seating of the "wallpaper" (I know if isn't wallpaper). Looking into the seat storage I notice moisture. Where the other window didn't run down the side, it has compromised a portion of the interior panel. In summary, while in storage with the slide in...these stupid windows leaked and you would never know even though all the seals visually looked fine.
We just got back and I have a list of items/improvements that I was planning. And now that the trailer is 2 years old I'm sure Keystone doesn't want to hear from me on this so I'm probably stuck with the repairs.
Not happy in NH!
