wfco 9800 problems

Is WFCo still in business? I have 3 calls and 3 emails and no response. I am hoping someone on this site can help me.
I put a digital voltmeter on my converter to keep an eye on the battery drain when I dry camp. When I hook up to shore power or generator the volt meter goes crazy. It jumps from 13.1 to 15.5 volts and everything in between in a split second. The WFCo manual says that you can not measure the volts with a multimeter because there is some relationship between the volts and the amps going into the battery. I doubt this. I let the converter go wild for 24 hours and the volts in battery did not change. It was 12.4 and 24 hours later it was 12.4.
However, if I took the 2 40 amp fuses out of the panel and turned the breaker to the converter off and then put the 2 fuses back in the turned the breaker to the converter on the converter would put out 14.4 volts steady and then drop down to 13.6 and finally 13.1 like it should.
I have a WF-9800 converter and a WF8955AN-P power center. I assume these are compatible.
Any ideas?

The WFCO website: https://wfcoelectronics.com/product/...ower-center-3/

They have a chat feature which might be useful at the bottom/right on the home page and several topic areas can be selected. The tech support option showed a section for your power center. I suspect they will be conversant regarding your converter. You might want to put a signature on your posts; looked at your profile and have no idea what a: FKS29 is. Year, product line and model would be good along with the year, make and model of your tow vehicle. It keeps folks from having to play 20 questions. Anyway, try their online chat...

I doubt chatting with them will help the OP. He already has stated he doubts what is written in the manual. Why would he believe live help?

The Wfco 9800 coverter is a deck mount and not part of the power distribution panel.

The WF8955AN appears to be a panel with the converter in the lower half.

Is the converter still installed in the lower half? The 40A fuses on the 9800 converter are on the back of the converter itself. Do you by chance have 2 converters?
