5th wheel dimensions

So I am going over the dimensions of ‘18 Sprinter 298fwrls. One of the dimensions listed is Truck Bed Length (mm) = 7. Can someone explain what that dimension means? Thanks

It certainly is an odd spec. The only thing I could come up with is that it can be towed with a truck with a 7 foot bed because of the shape of the front cap.
I'd be curious to know who came up with this dimension.

Where did you get that measurement? It's not a typical Keystone specification. I wonder if it is something a dealership posted? More information would sure be appreciated.....

This is where I found it; strange but true.

Yeah, OK, that doesn’t make any sense. Obviously a typo. Not sure what they really meant.

In the link that notanlines posted, they also list it as not having electric brakes on the front axle (only the rear axle) and they list the rear tire size and omit the front tire size (?). They also list it as having a 12 gallon water heater, it actually has a 6 gal gas/electric heater. They also list the refrigerator as "Elec/propane" when it actually has a residential Samsung refrigerator.

So, I'd suspect that RVUSA has someone in the marketing department doing the typing and web page updates, someone who is not familiar with what they're putting on the site.

I'd be interested to hear what RVUSA is trying to convey, but not interested enough to spend the time on their "phone tree" listening to computer music while waiting for the next computer generated voice to ask me to "please continue to hold".....

Anyway, if someone does get an answer to what the spec really means, please post RVUSA's answer.

I was thinking its the length of the overhang on the RV, though 7mm would be 9/32" and 7m would be over 22ft so who knows...lol

Could be feet, and the mm has no meaning, the overhang on our Copper Canyon could be close to 7’.

According to the specs used in the following ref the trailer has 5080# GAWR axles and they are fitted with ST225/75R15D tires. IMO those tires need to be immediately upgraded to LRE and inflated to 65 PSI. Wheel and stem capacities would have to be able to accept the 65 PSI.

Don't know if that is a misprint and meant ft., however, if you have that trailer get a slider or a long bed truck. As a "newbie", I purchased that trailer. (I really like the 298). I went to the local hitch dealer, with whom I'd dealt numerous times. The tech said "I've been doing this 17 years and I've never seen anyone need a slider with your truck." It's a 2007 2500 Ram short bed. I've pulled boats and trailers at least 125,000 or more miles over the years. The first time I backed the trailer into a spot, tapped the cab. Put on a slider and have 100% more control in tight situations. There will be a time when you need to basically cut a 90degree angle. Get a slider and don't worry.

Same thing here.. I own a 3500 short bed. And have a buddy with the same truck. He's wacked his cab before going to the automatic slider. Based on his experience and associated repair bill, I bought the auto-slider. We'll send that hitch tech a bill so he can reconsider his position.

I do remember a “pasty” on the nose as on my Alpine touting tighter radius maneuvers do to corner shape of cap, just don’t remember any specific “numerical/angle” claims! Actually Rather vague on specifics!
