Converter Fan - constant on

I'm posting this in the hopes of helping fellow RVers solve the remedy of the fan on the converter always on - or at least check this as a potential cause.

After unhooking the travel trailer and setting up camp, I noticed that the fan on the converter was on which was strange because we just setup. I went through all the resetting of the power, unplugging everything, checking voltages, checking the batteries, etc. nothing would shut the fan off (other than turning the circuit breaker off).

Long story short - the cause was that the "breakaway switch" became detached when I disconnected the safety chains. Who would have thought!

Safe travels .... Don

Another reason to make the switch to disc bakes, you would hear the pump running if the breakaway switch was pulled ;-)

Good pickup by the way.

Good info - probably would not have thought of that as the cause. Thanks for sharing

theallde, Howdy;

Even the draw for the breaks shouldn't cause the converter to run
warm enough to get the fan running that soon. Have you checked your battery(s), for proper liquid level?
