On our cougar, we have 4 types of windows.
1. vertical slide - there are two levers at the top of the bottom half - press these toward each other as you lift up.
2. Horizontal slide - there is a latch near the center frame of the window - pull inward as you slide the frame toward the center
3. Emergency exit/tilt out - there is a lever that rests in a spring plastic clip.
Release the lever, rotate the lever inward until it is perpendicular to the window, then push outward.
4. crank/tilt out - turn the nob to tilt the window outward.
Hope this helps - our sliding windows where VERY difficult to open and close until I got busy with my can of spray silicone. Be careful and good luck

Wow, thank you so much! I was doing them right after all, with your help, and I guess they'd never been opened. I finally got them. Once again, thankyou!

Does anyone know how to replace the silver metal window crank back into the slide rail on the window to the left of the entrance door on a Cougar High Country 327res 2015. It seems to have popped out.
