2023 Ford SuperDuty Trucks Announced

Ford has announced the 2023 Ford Superduty lineup and there are some significant changes. GONE is the 6.2L engine. The base engine is now a 6.8L with the 7.3L as the only optional gas engine. Two versions of the 6.7L diesel are now available, the "regular diesel" and a "High Output version". Engine specs have not yet been released.

Also, all versions of the SuperDuty above the XL line will have 4x4 as standard equipment. The article doesn't say that a 4x2 version might be optional if owner's prefer.

Oh, and apparently there is an "onboard scale" so there will be no question whether the payload is being exceeded.....

be interesting to see if they deny warranty coverage for habitual overloading

on a side note 2023 Ram heavy duty finally gets rid of the bullwinkle side mirrors

This is interesting as a lot of members on the Ram forum have swapped out their stock mirrors for GMC mirrors. And they look good and all say they function better.

If thats the "new" style mirrors other than a bit more square looking I don't see a lot difference.

I never have quite understood the mentality of a chronic basher. Keep in mind, not the kind just poking a little fun, but one who never lets a pickup thread go by without a caustic comment.
Maybe there is some truth to the rumor that his wife ran off with a Ford salesman. Hmmmm?

Isn’t that the truth. I prefer Fords and Rams, but they all make good trucks (and bad ones). Pick what you like and go.

I think what people are getting at is that you ALWAYS TELL THE SAME "JOKE" every chance that comes along and people are getting tired of hearing you bash Ford at every opportunity. There comes a time when the "joke" is no longer funny and you've reached that point.....

Don’t let the jealousy and envy get you down. When you drive the best, don’t worry about the rest.

I find it interesting that Ram has been offering different power options for years, but each one was married to a different transmission requirement. Now Ford is offering a high output Power Stroke. I didn’t go through all the specs/info, wondering if the rest of the drivetrain gets beefed up with that option. Personally, I don’t really see the need/reason for all of this. IMO none of these trucks should be towing 30k lbs and the standard power levels more than handle “normal” weights. Wonder how the HO version will affect the fuel mileage.

I went from a Chevy truck to a F350 to a Ram in about 2 years. Those Bullwinkle mirrors look goofy, but work great.

Yep, they look a little different but they grow on you. I kind of like the way they look now. My biggest gripe was having to fold them in/up but now that these are power ones I have no problems. AND BTW!! I was reading (I believe this morning) that the Ram 3500 is coming out with the Allison tranny next year! Cummins with and Allison....that will probably swing me to a diesel.

First I've heard of that but that's good if it's true. As long as it's actually a true Allison transmission. GM is calling the 10 speed in their trucks an Allison but in reality it's the joint venture that Ford and GM went together on. When you look at the fine print Allison merely "certifies" the transmission! Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent transmission. But advertising it as an Allison is a bit of a stretch.

Allison was supposed to be going into the Ram way back in 2015, but that’s when the Ram front end problems came to a peak and the NHTSA forced the buy back. At that point they put it all on hold. Actually surprised it’s taken this long to get it going again. TBH, I used to say a Cummins paired with an Allison would be the ultimate truck, but I’m so damn happy with my current Duramax that I wouldn’t give it up for a Cummins.
