In search of Gas Strut Replacement/ Main door

Hi Folks: I need to replace the gas strut on our main door on a 2015 Bullet 248RKS. It's a Stabilus Lift-O-Mat Part # 25719. I'm not having any luck on the internet or local auto part stores. Just thought I would check the forum before I proceed to my dealer. Anyone replace one recently? Thanks, Jim

Ours "crapped out in Las Vegas" last year... (we won't mention the wallet or entertainment budget)…

I bought a replacement at Camping World for $19. I went to several auto parts stores, most had the correct length but not the correct "charge pressure". Plus most were listed in the Auto stores for $29 and up. So for once, buying "RV PARTS at an RV STORE" actually was cheaper....

Get the length and charge of your strut and these guys may have it. They've had what I needed in the past;

Thank you John and Dan. I just ordered a replacement, 20" ; 10 lb. charge. It should fit right in place. Stay safe and well. Jim

UPS just dropped off my order for the door repair. It took 10 seconds (at most) to snap gas strut in place. Thank you again for the link Danny. I know to be careful opening the door when its windy. Last camping trip of 2019 , we were in the midst of a Nor' easter in Scusset and that side of the trailer was facing right into 50 mph winds sustained. It was an adventure for sure. Stay safe everyone, hopefully we can all get out there soon!

Some trailer entry doors do not have a "gas strut" and don't have the built in "ball socket connectors" that screw into the threshold and the bottom of the entry door. Those doors use a different type of "restraining device" to keep the door in place when open. Some of those are "friction hinges", latching devices or even magnets.

Are you sure, if your door doesn't have an existing gas strut, that it was originally equipped with one?
