Propane leak???

So I turn on my propane tank and the regulator shows green. Then before storage I turn tank valve(s) off and it still shows green (pressure in the line). But when I go to pick it up about 2 weeks later the regulator shows red. Shouldn't it still be green with pressure in the line? Do I have a possible leak? Regulator was replaced 1 month ago under warranty.

Possible leak? Maybe. The way to check is using a leak detect solution on all the joints, or better yet use a manometer. 0 drop in 3 minutes is RVIA standard. It could be leaking past the "pig tail" at the tank, may not be fully seated.

the checking of a leak is a must but i am wondering why you don't turn your tanks off when you are not using the trailer?

Thanks. Just wasn't sure if it was normal. Looks like I've got a project....
