Bathroom sink stopper

I hate the cheesey sink stopper in my Cougar bathroom sink. Had the same one in the previous trailer. It never stays open. I want to replace it with a pop-up one. There are several options on Amazon. Any experience or advice to share? Thanks.

If you have "the hole in the back of the faucet base" for the pop-up stopper lever handle, get the kit that fits your drain system. If you don't have a hole in the faucet base, then you'll need to start from scratch with a new faucet, sink stem with the lever and the stopper kit.

All the parts need to work together for the stopper to stop water from draining from the sink... Depending on what you have, some of what's available on Amazon will work and some of what's on Amazon won't adapt to some RV (cheap plastic) faucets. In either case, your drain is not equipped to adapt without replacing the sink drain stem to go along with the handle and stopper.

I just went through the same thought process as we are on a trip. I ordered a 2 pack of these and will try out when we get home:

Circling back on the stoppers. They didn't work. They look great but the sinks I have are oval in shape. So the round stopper "trim" will not sit flat in the sink and thus will not seal the drain.

So where the description focuses on the diameter of the drain hole itself...you have to ensure that the diameter of the overall device is used in measuring beyond the sink hole drain to ensure that the sink surface is "uniform" in slope.

Thanks. Sorry it didn’t work. I did order one but it came after the trailer went back to storage. I do need to go down there, about 10 miles, to get stuff I forgot to take out when unpacking so will check out the one I got then, hopefully soon. Will report back.

We use one of these most of the time and just put the stopper in when we want to close the drain.

The stopper I ordered from Amazon fits! Haven’t actually tried it with water but it aligns well with the drain and sits well in the sink itself. Trailer is in storage and I didn’t have any water on hand.
I wanted to insert a photo but that seems beyond my tech level. The brand is Howramt and the description is: upgraded Bathroom Sink Stopper with drain strainer, Pop Up Stainless Plug Only for 1.34-1.49 inch Drain Holes…. $13.99.

Out of curiosity....is the sink a round or oval sink? thanks

Oval. I read the descriptions of the various stoppers and looked for the one with the smallest overall dimension as the sink isn’t overly large.
