I have a diesel with the small fuel filler receptacle. I can generally find a pump that has the small nozzle. but carry an adapter for just that occasional time I have to use the large nozzle. Some trucks have the small filler receptacle because the fuel tank cannot accept the fuel flow of the commercial size nozzles. Even with an adapter you cannot fill at full handle because the diesel fuel flows back out of the tank. I've had my diesel since 2017, and have not had any problems. I only use the commercial lanes when I have to because of the hassle. I've read the mods to take out the flap, but at full fuel fill the diesel still backs up and comes back out of the tank. Make do where you have to make do.

I have had 3 RAM diesels, the current one is a 2017. I have never had an issue in truck lanes. Just filled up this morning.
