Fresh Water Tank - New Installation

Can I eliminate the straps and put a piece of USB. Thoughts?

I think you mean OSB. I wouldn’t only because if it gets wet it will turn to mush and no longer support the tank. I would use either the factory straps, or if they no good I would install “plumbers strap”
