Pirateland in SC
Anyone have any tips, etc.? We are going down in August, pulling from a little North of the Baltimore, MD region. The reviews all seem to be pretty good, but Id rather hear it from fellow campers first!

Annapolis, MD (the state capital) is closer than D.C.

Pirateland in SC, you get some value for the money you spend...

You're not wrong there, sometimes I wonder which one is worse than the other based on some of the laws they pass in annapolis!

Do you refer to the Infernal Revenue Service?

We go to Pirateland every March and April. It's a nice campground, it can be a little tight but how many CG's are not. Enjoy there is a lot to do.

Wife grew up going to pirate land. We usually stay at Lakewood which is right next door. If you have kids, I’d recommend Lakewood as some of the amenities are pay as you go. If it’s adults, the canopies on most sites are nice at pirate land.
Ocean lakes is the next one down and has an amazing splash pad/water park but is ridiculously busy and you might have to shoe horn the camper in the spot.
We are currently at daddy Joe’s in tabor city which is 45 minutes from the beach. The quad sites are an awesome idea where all campers face door side into a courtyard but the amenities aren’t as nice as others.

Thanks everyone, we are looking forward to it. The sites are super tight, but that comes along with the territory really being a "resort" campground. We are splitting the drive to and from into two days because we have a little one who would do well 10 plus hours in her car seat.

On my way north from Florida to Baltimore I stopped at this campground for the night…easy to get into and out of and about 4 1/2 hours from baltimore ..it was clean and pull through sites …no trees but they did allow you to wash your rv there if you choose to. A couple of full timers but mostly transient
