When I was still working I used to carry a phone, a digital camera, flaslight, laptop, and often a level, 100' tape measure, IR gun, etc. when visiting commercial sites under construction and at delivery. When the "smart phones" came around (first was a "crackberry" for me) it lightened the load. I became accustomed ti reaching for the phone as a camera and a light quickly but it took a while before I stooped trying to flip it open and closed.

Handiest use I found so far for a cell camera was determining the model number of my Dometic HVAC gateway box, which is installed inside the A/C cavity, but the label is located on the top side of the box where it is entirely hidden. Using the front-facing camera, you can even preview what you're pointed at and how well it's in focus.

I've gotten to the point where I now routinely reach for my phone when I need a level, compass, or even a rough yardstick in the RV, because it does all those things. (Haven't used the stud finder function yet.)

Now if the next iteration would only include a 1/4" hex drive and a flat & phillips bit holder I'd buy it!
