What is this lock for ?

Happy This trailer is new to us and dealer had no idea what this lock is for. I know that there are wires connected to it and I don’t have any key for it. Please help.

Without a picture or some more explanation I don’t see how anybody can really help you. Where on the trailer is it? Is your trailer new or used?

If I had to guess it’s the ramp door lock.

Marty, take a sec and put together a signature with year, make & model of camper and your tow vehicle. Click on UserCP and scroll down. That would help folks answer your questions with a bit of context. I had a toy hauler in the past but you locked the ramp with a paddle lock on each side through a hole in the closing arm... If you don't have a key, perhaps you storage compartment key will work?

Correct, that’s the lock to open ramp door

Well, if this is the case, will one of his storage compartment keys work since you seem to have this type lock on your TH?

On my ‘21 the ramp door has its own key. It’s actually a key activated electrically controlled switch.
There is a strap for a latch in middle top inside that will open the door too. I’m not sold on the concept of the rear door locking mechanism but I only got my 419 in time to put it in barn for winter so I have no experience with it yet.

This is the correct answer, the lock is for your electronic latch ramp door release. There is a manual release inside as well, which I have had to use when the batteries were disconnected. The system works but I think its a little overdone. (an extra electronic thing to break)

Also make sure you have your garage man door open when closing the ramp as the air pressure inside the garage will prevent closing the ramp door properly.

Your welcome, but it begs the question- why didn’t the selling dealer know.

I don’t know why either but I knew someone on this forum would. I tried all the keys that they gave me and none of them worked so I need to fine out how to get one either through the manufacture or elsewhere.
Thank you everyone for your help.

I bought a Raptor 423 used and did not get a key for the ramp door. I was wondering if you located a key for yours and where? Thanks.

Any locksmith can make you a new key. If you can take it to them it shouldn't be more than $40 if they come to you it will be $100 or more

We have the same Fuzion. Thats just like a car door lock for the ramp door. Clean the lock out and then try your keys. They get filled with grit, hope that helps!
