Rob, I didn't mean for that post to end so abruptly. I pay about $10.00 per 2.5 gallon container, sometimes a little more. Over a 10,000 mile period in our F350 we averaged right at 900 miles per 2.5 gallon container. Putting my 7th grade math to work equals out about 1.1 cents per mile. With fuel averaging close to a quarter per mile it just isn't something most of us think about.

Call me sentimental but I love the old 5.9s. I have two marine versions right now…the old bread trucks used to come with 3.9 4bt cummins and you could buy the whole truck for $2000
People swap them in jeeps and pickup trucks..my friend put one in a little shamrock center console that was keel driven…it idled at 6-8 knots though lol
Now they are harder to find….wish I kept my 2005 Ram 2500 5.9…that was a nice truck and got over 20 mpg

Might look for one but the problem is the body rust on that generation
I need a new beater truck for going to Home Depot and when the wife goes to garden centers/nurseries

Kinda why it’s hard to part with my truck. Last production of the 7.3 IDI and turbocharged. It’s all mechanical, not a ton of power (235HP after mods). But turn the key, wait to start, and it goes!!! No smog, no def, no speed demon.

I know they have a kit to adapt a Allison to the Cummins engine in a Ram, but I don't know if they can adapt the Allison to a Cummins in a Ford. All has to do with making sure the transmission can communicate correctly with the computer and dash gauges in the truck. If the 68RFE in my Ram ever gives up the ghost, I will probably give them a call and see what I need to do. I do know it's not an inexpensive proposition. But compared to the cost of a new truck, it might be worth it.

Your funny! Most of the DRW around here are F350 4x4. But there is a lot of factory F250 4x4 DRW as well.

While I have no "written confirmation from Ford" I can say that I've been buying Ford F250's since 1987 and I've never seen any "Ford ordering guide" that offers a F250 dual rear wheel configuration.

There are a number of F250 "chassis cab trucks" that were produced by Ford and modified by "aftermarket companies" for many purposes, from mini-home (class C motorhome) to light duty ambulance, flat bed/dump bed uses. Many of them offered a DRW modification. But, not from the Ford factory.

The "fact" (my personal experience in ordering and buying Fords) is no guarantee, I can say that I've never seen a F250 DRW truck that is OEM and I've never seen any "factory" catalog or order sheet or internet FORD site that has any information on how to order one or how to buy one.

So, like Jim, I'd love to see some photos (or even just one) or a document (from Ford) detailing the specifications, ordering information, parts documentation or even just a "OEM price guide" on a DRW F250.....

Aftermarket: Lots of companies offered/offer them
OEM: If there is such a truck, I've never seen any evidence of such.
