Sometimes it's just "Captain error"

Another from my friends at CHP- Solano County

This one's even a Keystone!

What's the verdict... WDH and/or sway bar? Overweight for LD truck? Not enough driver?

On that stretch of road, maybe, but not likely over the last couple days. Good speed, elevation changes, and nutball traffic (emergency braking downhill, maybe?)

Maybe someone tried to cut in front of them from the right. If you blow up the second picture you can see the head of a merge left arrow on the pavement. Looking at the skid marks it slid a ways on its side.

I saw on a FB post the driver swerved abruptly to avoid another vehicle and sway ensued.

All I know is what Russ already said, man look at those side marks caused from the trailer being on its side. Past the patrol car in #1. Cannot tell what type of hitch it was using. Be interesting to see the crash report and what witnesses say about speeds and anything about the combo. It could have been how the driver handled the vehicle at the first point the trailer fishtailed. Could have been unavoidable no matter tow vehicle and trailer.

This is in Wyoming. The trailer blowing over comes at 2:17 in the video. The Peterbilt is parked on the ramp and rocking from the winds. Gust were reported at 73 mph that day.
