Fuel station pump inop (2009 Fuzion 5th wheel M393)

The fuel station pump does not turn on. The previous owner said he never used it but once. It has two switches, one a time and the other a switch. There are no bad fuzes from all I can tell. Any ideas?

The fuel pump is a "phenolic gear set" that swells when exposed to gasoline. Usually they lock up and will not turn when swollen. Sometimes you can take the handle apart and sand the sides of the gears to remove some of the excess, freeing the gear set. That will allow the pump to operate. There is a newer pump handle that isn't as likely to swell, but I haven't seen it offered for sale at a reasonable price. The newer trailers don't seem to have as much problem, but older ones have a significant problem.

You can do a forum search for gas pump or similar terms and find everything from explanations of what's happening to pictures and procedures to repair it.
