Tv antenna rotating assembly and crank

Ok, I need to replace the tv ant. Rotating thingy on the interior ceiling. How hard is it and any tips?

If you are just replacing the handle that cranks it up and down and/or the star shaped rotator knob, it's not much of a job. The crank handle is held in place with a set screw. Loosen that and the handle should come right off the shaft which, IIRC, is square shaped. The star knob should just slide off and there's a spring behind it.

If you have to replace more than that, you're into removing caulk and stuff up on the roof. Not a difficult DIY job if you're so inclined.

M&TGreen, Howdy;

The FIRST thing yo may want to do is MARK the spot on the celing where the
alignment triangle is so that when you want to align it for folding it will fold
where it's supposed to...

Hank, once again you and this forum "learned" me something! I never knew what the little triangle deely was. At first I thought it was a marker for pointing the head.
I love this place

CUFFS054 -
Actually, you are almost right! In our unit, that little triangle deely does, in fact, point towards the "head" - depending upon which of the two triangles you are looking at. In any case, if you should get lost, you can usually find our head by following your nose.
