Equalizer upgrade for Wide Stance Axles

I am looking to upgrade my equalizers from the stock Dexter 13-148 equalizers including wet bolts. I have a 2019 Keystone Bullet 243BHS and my axles are 42” on centers, and my equalizer is 9.5” bolt to bolt. I have done a ton of research online and seemingly have come up empty on if there is a product for these “wide” stance axles. Etrailer recommended the Dexter EZflex 013-146-03, but after talking with Dexter they said that application is for 35” axle spread and will not work, in fact saying they don’t have a product that will work. I’ve sent emails to Morryde customer service but still waiting for a response, so I’d like to see if the keystone community has any ideas.

Thanks guys.

Slow, I looked at those but was concerned at the 14 5/8” bolt to bolt length. My current equalizer is only 9.5” bolt to bolt. Was your original longer?

Not sure if this helps but these have been on our radar to be install when the trailer comes back.

Equa-Flex® Rubberized Equalizer - Tandem Axle Kit, Wide-Stance 3,500 to 5,200 lbs.

This is from the lippert web site.

We also want to upgrade the springs, bushings and wet bolts. Having trouble finding the right length spring. Would like to go from the single to a double or triple spring.

Anyone have insight to where to get the correct length of spring.

I had the same issues with my 2015 26 RBPR Bullet premier.
Mono spring snapped in half near Dayton in August 2019, looked everywhere for a 30" (31" ?) length spring, nada. Called every spring shop in Dayton and surrounding area, ultimately had to order new springs through Paul Sherry in Piqua, Ohio. Added the wet bolt upgraded shackle kit.
I wasn't happy about the difficulty in findings parts or the expense of options I had to beef it up. So I let it go in January 2020 for the 5er. It did tow and track nice.

After sitting in Poor Farmers campground for 5 days through a heat wave waiting for parts and realizing 13.5 k A/C was not near enough, that was when I started my exit strategy with the premier.

Good luck to you.

I received an email back from Morryde and this is what they say:

We appreciate you contacting us. Our wide track CRE is for a 42” wheelbase. We have a kit for 14 ¾”equalizer length - CRE2-1475, and a kit for a 10” equalizer - CRE2-1000. Let me know if your trailer meets the minimums, in the attached qualifier above.

You will also want to consider adding our heavy-duty shackle kit. It includes grease-able wet bolts, bronze bushings, and ½” thick shackle links. This kit works very well with our CRE, and will increase the longevity of all of your running gear.

Since this is a newer item, you can order from us directly. Please call, when you are ready to order. I can take a credit card over the phone and ship to you via UPS.

So, sounds like this is a new item and the CRE2-1000 is what I need.

Sorry, I missed that. It is odd that the 42" wide axle set up is using two different equalizer bolt to bolt lengths.

I'm a newbie with a wide stance 2014 Bullet 22RBPR and have seen a few Youtube videos of people changing out their equalizers. I asked my "tow guy" Robby at Robby's Hitchin' Post who gave me a wry grin and advised for my rig, "don't bother". Be interested to see what other recommendations you receive from the seasoned vets.

Unless you find spring packs that are the same length of your mono springs, I would change to the HD shackle and wet bolt kit, but your mono leaf springs are the weakest part of that suspension. Whoever thought that a mono leaf that long was a good call should have to personally change for free every mono leaf Keystone has put out.
I'm also not sure if the seasoned folks in here have had a TT with that set up and spent that kind of money on it. JMO

Update: Received in the order from Moryde. Attached is a picture of the new equalizer and I also got in the heavy duty shackles and greaseable wet bolts. Next up is the installation. Not sure if I am going to tackle that myself or take it to a shop. We will see.

Finally got around to getting these installed. I had it done at a local shop vs me trying to do it. Came out very nice with the heavy duty shackle straps and greasable wet bolts. Had the bolts facing outward as I can easily reach them with the wide stance axles. First trip coming up after Christmas as we are headed north from Florida to North Carolina. Kids told me they can’t remember what snow looks like so we are headed to a snow tubing park outside of Asheville. Also never been to Asheville before so going to Biltmore, breweries, Great Smoky Mtns NP etc. Let you know how it rides.

I can tell you how it rides - a heck of a lot better! I put on a set of those recently. First trip with new equalizers was a real treat. Enjoy your trip. Grab a bag of zerk fitting covers on Amazon - they snap on and keep the zerks clean. 25 to a bag, few bucks.

First trip on the new equalizers went very well. Noticeable difference in the ride. Took the family from Florida to Asheville, NC after Christmas so my kids could see some snow and do some snow tubing. Great trip over all. The road from Savannah to I-26 in the right hand lane is atrocious. In fact most of the roads we traveled in South Carolina are horrible. Good news is nothing askew inside the camper, everything traveled really well with the new suspension. Great upgrade for the price.

Congrats on the upgrade and thanks for the feedback. The only MorRyde suspension I've had came as OE and it was better than anything I've had previously or since.
