Thanks and yeah I actually read the manual (specifically looking for this) after I posted above....we're doing multiple trips to visit family where I'd normally take the car over the the next couple of weeks...

I just got my new Reese Goosebox 20K pin box to replace the factory king pin, pin box on the the Cougar. Now it is time to find some friends to come help.

Cowboyed up today and washed my awning nethers the hard way, with a scaffolding, an old sock and Safeway's cheapest bleach cleaner. I did use the trick of rolling the awning up "the wrong way" to get the underside to wrap up on the roller where I could scrub it. Aside from a couple small spots that I suspect are 4yo NH pine sap, the cleaner did a fantastic job, and I didn't get it in my eye more than two or three times.

I washed the upper surface with plain water and a brush, then rolled the awning up so I could get to the string of dirt puddles that lined up along the always-exposed fabric at the wall attachment. Surprise -- they were not dirt, they were where the dark brown dye had sun-bleached/worn off, and rubbing them with the cleaner "dirtied" up a brand new area! Now I have to find somebody who sells Grecian Formula For Awnings.

Tonight at dusk I'm going to wash and coat the remaining two sides, in preparation for its Tuesday trip to the beauty parlor to have its ceramic coating renewed. Washing the RV in Arizona always gets stalled at step one: "Pick a cloudy day."

Had my grandson do the "pass-thru crawl" again today to get the opposite door open when my slam latch failed.

The Global Link Nova Pro Slam Latch (295-000186) has this failure mode where the milky plastic bearing sleeve inside the mechanism cracks under normal use, then works itself off its pin such that the handle jams and refuses to open. I've had both sides fail this way, fortunately not at the same time.

Also replaced my "pool chlorine screw-top bucket" black water adapters storage with a "gasketed ammo case" black water adapters storage. It was getting pretty musty in there.

Replaced bubble seals on two slide outs, Keystone used silicone at top of seals should I use Dicor instead of silicone.

Didn't help. I ended up evacuating and deodorizing the entire passthru, then gave everything a sniff test on the way back in. I suspected my red gray-water hose was the culprit, but nope. Imagine my surprise to find it was my short-length "extension" drinking water hose stanking up the hole -- a hose I don't believe I've used since well before I got this rig. And it was connected to itself, so it wasn't trapped water, but the outer surface smelling all rubbery/plasticky. So I did a complete inside and outside bleach flush on both that and my red hose, and stuffed them into vacuum shrink bags (not for shrinking, but the bags are airtight).

While I had the passthru vacant, I knocked together a storage board for some of the larger, heavier hitch tools I use at every CG stop, tools that were overwhelming my tool bag anyway. Now I can move the toolbag out of prime real-estate so I can access my black and fresh water items with less strain.

Nice work! I have done some similar stuff myself. With limited space available, being creative with your storage is a must!
