SIMPLE "FIX": Slow Bouncy Slides

The slides on my 2015 Bullet Premier recently started to slow down and bounce as they were traveling in and out. The motors seemed to be straining as well. The cables and pulleys looked good, so I assumed the wear bars were failing.

I have never lubricated the slides, but only cleaned the Darco fabric (black fabric) underneath the slides with microfiber and water once in the five years I have owned this trailer. It should mention that my fabric is in good condition with no rips or tears.

After some research, I saw that someone simply rubbed bar soap on the Darco fabric and it solved his problem. Well, he was not kidding, it worked! After rubbing the underneath of my slides with bar soap, they now operate at full speed and run in and out smoothly.

I literally spent more time Googling than I did "fixing" the issue. I know this will not work for everyone, but it is worth a try.

Interesting idea and glad it worked for you. I've used bar soap on wood screws for years. A simple pass of the screw's threads across the soap bar, and voila the screw drives into the wood with little to no resistance. Makes driving longer screws easy!

That sounds like you figured it out... what kind of soap? Fragrant soaps can attract ants I read ..also I wonder if the soap will attract dust and dirt...I’m looking for something to smooth up my slides as well so I’m interested

DW had a couple boxes of parrafin wax from her canning days that I inherited & use it on all types of stuff same as the bar of soap, works great, dirt doesn't stick & doesn't attract unwanted critters.
