Marker Lights
I have a 2017 Hideout 308 BHDS, went to storage yesterday to see how it was after the wind storm. All the marker light covers had been blown off, after trying to snap them back on, they wouldn’t stay. What has everyone replaced the stock marker lights with?

I have to say, this is a new one on me. I think I've lost one running light cover in 20 years.

Was anyone else’s marker lights off?

Not that I noticed, I have dealt with marker lights 25 years of my mechanic career. Never seen any like this, when I tried to put them back on they didn’t click on.

Might be worth a detailed physical examination of the caps and bases, then a letter to whoever the manufacturer was. Sounds suspiciously like a bad batch of castings.

I was thinking about switching to a LED marker light.

You said a windstorm? I wonder if the wall flexed and popped them off as opposed to blowing them off

The wind even blew off my tire cover, the wind got up to about 60mph. Usually when you put the lens back on the base it snaps on. Now it just kinda sits there, doesn’t snap.

Geez. Well at least that was all the damage and not something worse

I did a LED conversion on all my marker lights. Wasn't difficult, and much brighter than the old lights.
Your local auto parts store should have the LED lights you need.
Take care!

I'm not trying to insult your mechanical abilities, but the factory has, on way too many occasions, installed the marker lights upside down. So, if you glance at the cap and orient it so the drain hole is down, you may be trying to install the cap upside down. It sometimes won't "click into place" unless it's oriented correctly.
I'm not sure what brand clearance lights Keystone used on the 2017 Hideout, but being their entry level trailer, I'm sure the marker lights are the lowest bid of the low bidder suppliers. In other words, the cheapest Chinese lights available. If turning the caps upside down doesn't work, you might want to just cut to the chase and replace them all with decent quality LED lights. There are a few that are "direct replacements for the oval incandescent marker lights" and don't require any modification to install them.

FYI - My passport (near the bottom of the quality list at Keystone) has "Optronics" brand marker lights. Easily found on amazon in the LED version that looks (shape/size) exactly like the incandescent type.

My 2018 Hideout had the same problem. I ordered replacements from e-trailer and they still did not snap into place. I had to put a dab of silicone top and bottom. That was a year ago, and they have held up.
