Slides not closing

I have a Keystone carbon with a slide problem. The battery shows full and I am connected to a 30amp service. The motor on the slides sound like they are too weak to do the job, like they are connected to a dead battery. Any ideas? Has anyone come across this problem before?

Look into the grounds and power supply for the 12 volt system. Good grounds are just as important as power supply, so clean them and see if it works then.

What type of slides are they? hydraulic, electric rack and pinion, or cable?

You don't give any specifics about your tow vehicle or trailer in your signature or on your profile page. It is much easier to answer questions when that information is known so that we can assess age etc.

The slides need a fully-charged, functional battery. If you're connected to shore power, the voltage you're reading at the battery is the charge voltage, not the battery.

You should consider load-testing the batteries to make sure they are in good shape (even if new - new batteries can be bad too).

If the battery checks out good, I would then look into all the battery power/ground connections to make sure they are clean and tight (remove all corrosion/rust).
