Adding 2nd battery to TV
Hi Folks,
Has anyone in here added a second battery to a late model (2015 - 2019)
GMC 2500 / 3500 gas model?
I have an isolator, battery tie down coming. I have a 150a fuse block to attach to positive 4 awg cable run.
Any insight / advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

The GM diesel models came with 2 batteries, 1 next the radiator on the drivers side & the 2nd on the passenger side next to the firewall under the curved support. With that said you might possibly get the battery holder designed for that spot from your GM dealer parts department.

What's your purpose for the second battery? Accessories? Extra starting power? Extra camper power? Etc...

Thanks Danny, it came with the tray and made sure it had the tab for the tie down block.
I want to use it for a 2000w inverter for sporadic use. Air compressor, and any 120v tools or appliances.

Super. I think you can find more detailed info about installing via google than I can give. Since you aren't wanting to power anything in the truck I think it will be the most straightforward install via the isolator and connected to truck only for charging.
I just did a lot of reading about this while deciding what to order on a new SierraHD. I ended up getting the factory aux battery so I could use the 12V at both of the trailer plugs in addition.
Good luck

I found this post on google and I am basically doing it this way. I still have to find out whether I should run a wire through the RVC sensor, or because I am running a 2awg cable from secondary battery to main battery, will it still pick up voltage fluctuation.
I will post pictures when I am finished as well as any other info I come across.
Again, this is for later model GMC trucks.
