Slide outs not working

Hi. I'm new to this forum and don't know what I'm doing in this forum or on the trailer. Have a 2010 31' Keystone Hornet RBDS with two slide outs. They've always drifted out at the bottom about 4" when not in use since I purchased the camper new. Camper has hardly been used but many items are requiring attention now. The switch to the slide outs quit working and I don't hear the motor running. I removed it from the wall and saw a black and white wire connected. Two smaller gauge wires were connected together and connected to the switch in between the other two wires. Everything else on the camper seems to work. Since the slide outs work on the 12 volt side of the system, are there any fuses and are they located elsewhere besides the master panel? Any ideas how to check with a volt meter? I believe my slide outs are rack and pinion and operated by hydraulics.

Check the fuses on the frame near the battery box. They don't look like actual fuses that you are used to seeing, but they do control the high amperage things like slides. They should/might have a red cover over them.

You also need to verify that your battery(s) is good. Someplace on your unit there is (or was) a sticker indicating that slide outs would only work with a fully charged battery in place. It won't work when "just on shore power" because the converter is not able to produce the high current needed for the slides.

Good luck.

It could be as simple as a loose connection on the battery, ours quit working and the batteries were at 11.7 volts tightened all the connections and wala everything is working great. I thought i was going to have to replace the batteries when I found the loose connection.
