TV Cabling

We have a 2018 Keystone Bullet. It is wired for Over The Air TV and Cable TV. The connection for the service is on the rear of the trailer. There is also a connection under the awning for an outdoor TV (not yet used). Inside is the TV that came with the trailer. It is connected via coaxial cable that comes from the wall - the same 'box' that contains the signal booster switch. just above that box is another that just has a short cable pigtail that goes in a "U" from one connection to another. I've attached a picture.

My question is regarding hooking up a Dish satellite antenna. I tried connecting it to the external connection at the rear of the trailer with the signal booster OFF. It would not communicate with the receiver in the trailer. Any ideas? How have you connected your satellite antenna to your receiver?

?

Where did you connect the receiver ? I don't have a sat dish but was told that the receiver should be installed in place of the short "U" shaped loop of cable and the dish cable connected to the inlet where you connect the park cable.

Typically if you have just one outside antenna connection then remove coax for park cable and connect sat dish to that port.

Then on the inside remove the short coax loop and connect dish receiver to top port on that wall outlet. Then connect dish receiver to TV set using HDMI cable if TV has an HDMI input port.

And of course turn OTA booster switch off and set TV input to the HDMI port you plugged receiver into.

If using a portable dish there will also be a power inserter that must be in the coax loop to provide power to antenna dish

Thanks for the quick replies. I will test that setup today and let you all know!

I’m using a DISH setup. I think the antenna is powered through the coax as there is no other connection to it.

Run the cable from the satellite to the receiver through a window in the den. Another option is to drill a hole in the slide out and install a cable connection in the slider wall then run a cable from that connection to the receiver.

Thanks for the advice and info. Flybouy and Chucks — that worked perfectly! Thanks! Camp CA, just FYI, our 19’ Bullet doesn’t have a Den, lol. Drilling holes was my last solution. Thanks to Chucks I have no need for additional holes.
