2020 Cougar Retract Override Help
May daughter has a 39’ Cougar 5th wheel which I moved for her today and due to wet weather and recently dug trenches, we had to settle for a temporary set up on down slope. After disconnecting, I raised the front levelers but ran out of leg before I reached level. So, I picked up blocks to install but in order to install them I need to hook back into the truck to allow me to raise the jacks. Problem is that the computer for the auto leveler stops at a point where it says the incline is too much and won’t let me lower enough to get onto the hitch. Is there a way to override the computer. Help please!!!!

Welcome to the forum
Which leveling system? If it’s Lippert Ground Control, you should be able to use the arrows and scroll to “Manual Mode”.

Chuckster thanks for the reply. I had it in manual, but it is saying something about the angle % and won’t let me lower past a certain point.

Ok. If it is Lippert then once it flashes the “excessive slope/angle” message, does it then flash “Press Enter To Acknowledge”? After that it should be good.

This may not be your issue but is worth checking. The trailer MUST be nose high before the autolevel feature will work. Be sure you have elevated the front to a nose high position before starting the autolevel.

no it doesn't, that is only for the setting to get it to return to the same high that it was when you unhooked.

Well, whatever works for you, but the OP might want to check that as this is the way it is stated in the operations manual.

Actually with Ground Control 3.0 the “auto reconnect” feature is only available if you start autolevel Nose high. If you start auto level “nose low” and scroll to auto reconnect it should display “feature disabled”.
It has been that way from the beginning, and unless they changed the software and videos it’s still that way to my knowledge. Not here to argue, but I have spent “hours” working with this system including hours long phone calls with tech support while troubleshooting issues. If it has changed, please direct me to the documentation so I can make changes in my service notes.

As far as I know it has not changed, hence the reason I was making the suggestion to the OP.

I cannot find a crank or a hole to retract auto leveler if it fails (no power). So, if needed how do I retract the levelers on 25RES Half ton.

Better is to provide the model of the leveler itself, then you can find (or we can refer you to) the manufacturer user guide online which will answer that.
