2nd A/C installation
Hi folks. New member here. Used to be a member on the Forest River forums, but we traded or Rockwood 5th wheel in on a Laredo 5th wheel last year. I have a question related to adding a 2nd A/C unit to our Laredo. I purchased a new Coleman Mach 10 unit to go where the bedroom roof vent is. My 5th wheel is 50 amp and already wired and braced for a second A/C there. The pro that is going to come to my home and install it for me quoted me a price for installation and said that price was good as long as I had everything needed to install the A/C. I have the A/C and the inside ceiling assembly. Since my Laredo's roof is arched, will I need some type of shim kit to make the A/C fit flat to the arched roof?

Should fit right on there with no issues. I have a 2014 Cougar and added the low profile Dometic unit to our front bedroom and the Cougar roof is arched but the gasket took care of the issue. Hardest part is getting it up on the roof!

Welcome to the forum
As stated, the gasket will seal the unit to the roof. When it's place on the roof in place, there are 4 long bolts that go through the ceiling plate and into the roof unit. As they are tightened, the gasket will compress against the roof. Depending on how much Dicor and butyl tape is left over from the vent removal, you may have to do some cleaning to get a flat surface for the gasket to seal better.

Interested in more on this. Ours is "prepped" for the second ac. I was sweltering last weekend in our site with no late day shade. Pretty sure the ac just gave up. Or froze. Anyway I'm interested in the lo pro option. Asked dealer he said 1350$ seems steep. What did u guys use what parts do I need. I'm pretty good at diy

Depends on which thermostat you have, what thermostat wiring is there (if any), and if the ducting is there.
You can remove the vent garnish to see what's up there. Should be 110V probably terminated in a "dummy plug". If the duct work is there it will be taped at the ends with Aluminum tape.
If there are any other wires let us know what they are and we can go from there.

We went with the Coleman Mach 10 (brand new model). It's a low profile model, but not as low as the Mach 8 ultra low profile unit. I got the Mach 10 from Camping World for $650 with free shipping, which was a great price. Bought the non ducted ceiling unit for it, which was $81 I believe. I ordered the unit with the black shroud, but CW sent it with a white shroud. Then they sent me a black shroud, but it was the wrong shroud, as it was for the full size unit. They sent me a return postage sticker, so I sent it back. Received the correct shroud yesterday. They didn't even want the white shroud back.

Ok I'll check what's up there. There is a cover plate rt next to the vent that says ac circuit power. And it's all braced according to dealer. I'll open it up and see what's there but I was thinking a something like the above post. Low pro and a non vented control unit on the inside. Then I just need the power. Should be easy rt?

Yup! Non ducted, controls at the plenum are the easiest.
