PowerBuilt 3 Ton UniJack

Does anyone have any opinions or experience with this 3 ton bottle jack with integrated jack stand to lift their trailer for axle/brake servicing or wet bolt installation?

http://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-620.../dp/B00GJJZ5NI

Looks like I would need to prop them up on a 3 high stack of 2 x 12s to get the lift I need on the trailer. Should also work if I need to pick up the F250.

It is on sale this week in Canada for $49.99CDN at Part Source and I am thinking of getting a couple.

You need at least 4 jack stands to do a wet bolt install safely.
If your just working on the brakes on wheel bearings it looks like a nice option.

It's a 6000lb jack, wouldn't lift my trailer. I use a 12 ton jack for a trailer that grosses at about 15k.
What I like about that jack is that it looks like it has a good stable "nose".
As indicated, whatever you do, you're going to have to get a solid stable base for both the jacks and stands.

I used 6x6 blocks left over from a deck project. I think I used about 10 of them.

I don't know why you'd need 4 jack stands unless you were trying to get the whole trailer up. I just did one side at a time. I didn't try to lift the whole trailer.

Thanks for the thoughts and cautions.

I have since purchased two of the UniJacks and plan to do one side of my TT at a time. I have also made 11.5" x 11.5" pairs of blocks of 1.5", 3" and 4.5" heights. They should provide a solid base for the UniJack bases that are 9.5" x 9.5".

I will report back when the snow melts as to how they worked out.

I used the Unijack for the first time this afternoon to rotate the wheel/tires on the F250 (front to back on each side). No additional blocking was required. I lifted one side of the F250 at a time, both front and back at the axles near the wheels. It was much faster than using a floor jack to lift, then having to place a jack stand and then repeating for the other axle. The Unijack also easily lifted the front axles of the F250 without requiring much force on the jack handle.

I now have no regrets taking a chance on buying the two Unijacks.

The next use of the Unijacks will be to install the wet bolt kit in the next couple of weeks.
