Black and Grey tanks labels reversed

FYI - as a new owner I have been dumping I was told to do (drain the black tank first then the grey). I wanted to completely fill the black tank to flush it with lots of pressure. I filled it with fresh water and pulled the handle marked "Black Tank" - nothing, I thought that I had some sort of malfunction or that the gate broke, after awhile out of frustration I pulled the "Grey handle" and it flushed the black tank.

So if you have a new rig - test to make sure that they have labeled the flush valves properly.

For some unknown reason, Keystone seems to have difficulty putting the right label on the right tank. Join the ranks of the many customers who have also run into this same problem which has been reported here on the forum numerous times. You're not the first and I am sure you won't be the last to make this discovery.

There's one guy at the Keystone factory that laughs every time he does this.
Someone that takes a factory tour should watch real close.

"That" guy must work P/T at a bunch of different plants. It isn't an issue just for Keystone.

tonyb - You are not alone, our new 2015 Cougar 30RLI had the labels reversed. How hard can it be to stick the correct label on?

Yup happened to us too ! I started the black tank flush procedure and after about 30 seconds I was amazed at how clean the "Black Tank" waste water was. I closed the valve and opened the Grey. Well how 'bout them apples...Couldnt believe it.. Knuckleheads for sure.. We thought our diets were really working for a bit !!

Noticed the same thing on our new Carbon 33 last weekend. Didn't make sense that the black would be upstream of the grey the way they had it labelled.

Not only Keystone. I had a TrailSport made by Monaco. Same problem. Oh how I wish that was the only problem I had with that trailer. Worst RV I ever owned!

Yep, that falls into the area of "you had one job to do and...." I haven't experienced it, but so many others have.

Yep, I discovered this last weekend on our new Cougar. Amazes me that something like this can be screwed up ... certainly makes you wonder if it's intentional by a disgruntled employee.

Chance are pretty slim that it's the "same disgruntled" employee. This mismarking has been going on for more than 10 years. Surely by now, if it were the same worker, he would have been "fired or promoted" to a different job LOL

Once you determine which is the correct handle, spray paint the handle and frame above the handle with grey paint.

Great idea!

...and just be thankful this employee is in charge of stickers...and not welding the frames!

Just consider it "Fifty shades of Grey Water"! LOL

LABELS... What labels?... Do they cost extra?... Can we get some too?... I got tired of dealing with the "Home Office", and went Rogue! I found out for myself. Welcome to Keystone! Great campers... CRA**Y attention to detail, and record keeping!

For a while there, it seemed like I was the only one who knew what I had for factory installed features on my Alpine 3535RE! They didn't even know I had a second grey water tank to service the Galley. They forgot to hook it into the gate valve. I did it myself. p.s. Good support on this board, better than factory! Lots of experience here among all of us.

The T handles are threaded on so you could swap them out.
