Any more camping quilters out there?

After seeing several replies posted in the modifications section about new quilts that we have made for our RVs, I was just wondering how many of us are also quilters.

We never go anywhere without at least a small sewing machine and a stash of fabric tucked under the bench dinette. Bad weather is a perfect excuse to get sewing. Good weather means I can sit outside with some handwork.

The most dedicated quilter I ever saw on our travels was a campground host who had converted the garage of their TH to a quilt studio. Sure wish I had taken a picture of that. It was impressive!

One of the first things my wife bought when we got an RV was a sewing machine.

My wife is also an avid quilter. When full-timing she got all the drawers and cupboards in the bedroom for her supplies. She also carried her wonderful sewing machine. Now that we just go out on jaunts and a couple months in the summer she bought a cheap Singer that stays in the trailer. She brings the supplies she needs for whatever she is working on. We also have to stop at all the quilting stores along whatever route we are travelling!!!

I'm a hobby quilter, don't take the machine with us but I usually have my notebook & color pencils with us so I can work on new designs while out camping.

At the age of 60, I've just taken up quilting. But there is no room in our 29 ft Laredo for a sewing machine, plus we have our grands with us all summer and I'm entertaining/watching them. I will bring some of my counted cross stitch tho this summer. I was getting bored a few times with all my reading.

HELP! My wife's a quilter. Travels with a Singer feather weight and a couple of "tubs" of fabric. Unfortunately there is no room in the 250BH for her long arm machine. Now if they only made a toy hauler big enough for that...... could be full time.
