getting up close with your hitch
After a close encounter with a sway bar I have some extra time for camping
I guess I should have jumped back faster

I have the Husky center line. If the truck is not 100% straight with the trailer the piston is compressed and is under a lot of pressure.
I usually undo the bars before I back in if the truck is not going to be straight. I guess I got lazy and was in a rush to get set up. Dumb move

Our wt distribution bars will break legs when DH is prying them off.

Ouch! Thanks for the warning / reminder.
I've quickly learned that due to the slope of our driveway as it meets the street it's MUCH EASIER to drop the weight distribution / sway bars off our Equalizer hitch BEFORE backing into the driveway.
Hope your hand heals quickly.

You never did say Randy, is it broken? Thinking out loud here, Connie has watched you set up enough times she can pretty much take over setting up for you. And being the left hand once you get the bike moving you can pretty much forgo using the clutch.

Just back form the Dr . He told me to "gently " use it. < read go camping > Only soft tissue damage. Work wont let me do light duty so it looks like I'm off work for three weeks , then it is two weeks shut down at work. Then, back to work for one week and I have two weeks vacation booked.
Looks like I have to work one week in the next 7 weeks.

The couple we go camping with have the husky straight line as well and that thing has some snap. What he does though and it appears to work, he cranks the jack up so that it lifts all tension off the bars before he takes them off.

When I owned a TT that is exactly what I did every time. It's an old trick I learned from my Dad.

^ Hardly. I've shown this trick to my FIL every trip we've camped together and he still doesn't undrrstand hw it is safer and easier.

Do the same thing with my Reese dual cam. Dealer showed that when we took delivery.

You can crank the trailer jack up as high as you want, but if the trailer is not straight with the truck it will be under sideway pressure. The Husky has compression cylinders that keep the trailer straight when towing. If the trailer is not 100 % straight one of the cylinders is going to be compressed, and will try to bite you no matter what you do.

Very interesting!
So it has downward pressure as well as sideways pressure if not completely straight? That could be very inconvenient.
