carpet pulled loose by slide out -- suggestions?

The carpet that my larger slide-out moves across has been pulled loose by the inward movement of the slide, causing it to bunch up (and actually double up) in that area when I bring in the slide. This causes the flooring of the slide to be raised up higher than normal when its in the stored position. The edge of the carpet that has pulled loose is supposed to be positioned beneath a black border strip that runs the width of the slide. I can't imagine how you could get the carpet back under that strip without some major disassembly.
Anyone else experience this and if so, what was the fix? Thanks!
