Does it have voltage and frequency meters? Does it have voltage and frequency adjustments? I would only buy one that had those features.
My statement is based on owning a Craftsman 3500 W generator that set our surge protector on fire and burned up our carpet during a power outage in February. Luckily we discovered it in time.
The unit had no meters and no adjustments. It was putting out 147 volts we found out later. Sears provides no support for Craftsman generators and basically told me "tough doo doo." Sears blames Briggs & Stratton, Brigs blames the APC surge protector that worked fine for a year before the power outage.
