Samsung residential refrigerator

We just bought a new Alpine 3701fl with Samsung residential refrigerator. I've searched and researched and cannot find a power on/off switch. Is it best to just keep it running all the time rather than cutting off electric or inverter power source when it's not going to be used for awhile? Thanks for your help.

When we store the rig we turn off the refrigerator, and inverter off, and leave the doors to the freezer and regular compartment open to avoid heating up the unit and draining the battery.

Does yours have an actual on/off switch? Ours does not.
Thanks.

There is no on/off switch on my Samsung. I have a dedicated breaker I use to turn it off. I also have to make sure my inverter is off. My Samsung is on all the time in the summer so I can use it for extra capacity while its stored in the driveway. In the winter, its off and the doors are propped open. If you go this route, be sure you can run an air conditioner to keep the ambient temp in your unit below 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The Samsung manual says compressor damage may occur if its run in temps above that. I think the low temp is 40 degrees Fahrenheit at which point you will require your heat to be on.

Your Samsung Residential refrigerator does not have an off-on switch. You can put it in "display" mode though, which turns off the cooling mechanisms in both refrigerator and freezer, but allows the light to come on when the doors are opened. This is the setting for display in stores and such.

But to kill everything, you either pull the electric plug or flip the breaker in your breaker box.

And FYI... to save yourself some real headaches..... when the ice maker light is on, the ice maker is actually off. When the ice maker light is off, the ice maker is actually on. It took 3 calls to Samsung and almost had a service technician come out to finally figure this out.

Thanks for your reply. The ice maker switch got me also, seems to be just opposite of what one would think but I finally figured it out after four days and sort of by accident.

For the residential Samsung 4 door fridge, to turn it OFF or ON, press and hold the POWER FREEZE AND FREEZER buttons down at the same time.

Just so everyone knows how to turn on/off a Samsung residential fridge: Press both the power freeze and the freeze buttons down at the same time.
