Hello everyone

I have had a 2004 Cougar for a quite a bit of time now. We love the trailer, but decided that it maybe time for a new one. We just put down a deposit on a 2018 Cougar 333MKS. My wife loves the floor plan. Anyone here have that model? Anything to look out for? Any mods that should be completed right away?

Thanks

Hello everyone

Will have to follow this thread. We just bought a 344MKS (very similar to yours but the stairs go up to the bedroom on the opposite side). We haven’t picked it up yet....too cold!!

My husband is building me more shelves for the pantry as the first project!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new trailer! And yes, I do believe we have some members that have the 333MKS. Hopefully they will chime in before too long. Be sure and get an EMS of the appropriate voltage for the new 333 (thinking the 2004 might be 30A and the new one 50A).

Exactly! I have camped in trailers all my life. My parents went through the transition from popup to 5th wheel while I was growing up. My family did the samething. In all those years I have never used anything on my electrical service. With the new trailer coming, an EMS is the first "upgrade" on the list. But since we are still covered in snow for a few more months I can't even get the new one until it melts. So I have some time to get an EMS.

As I said I put a deposit down on one, but now that we are hammering out the deals we are running into possible problems. I hope we can work it out, because we REALLY like this trailer.

Don't get set on this deal if it feels bad. There are others out there. Remember the dealer needs you, don't let them make you feel like they hold the cards. You are writing their pay check.

We were working with a dealer on a used 303RLS, and they couldn't come up with numbers we agreed with for the price of there used 303 and our 2012-291RLS. It was frustrating to say the least!

So, the net of our story is we dropped the thought of buying a new (to us) trailer, and thought, oh well we like what we have, let's just keep ours.

THEN, we went to the dealer we bought our 291 from, and saw a 333MKS. The price was $10,000 more than the '15 303, so we were hesitant, but our trade-in for our 291 was $6,000 more! So we are now buying a new '17 model for only $4,000 more, picking up on Monday!
