Need fridge help.

I am boon-docking in the desert. I have my Dometic fridge set on gas. It has been raining and every time it rains the check light comes on and things begin to melt. When it dries outside I can reset the fridge and it works. Any ideas? Anyone experienced this?

Depending on the model of your refrigerator, I'd suspect that you've got a "failed sensor" on the control board that's located on the back of the refrigerator, probably in the lower left corner of the bottom vent. There's a "black plastic cover" over the control board. Since there's also 110 volts on the board, make sure to unplug the refrigerator before removing the cover.

That said, without further information, it could be anything from a bad propane regulator that's not allowing gasflow when the humidity is high to a loose wire or fuse connection that's exposed to the humidity.

I'd just "go snooping" and see if you can find anything obvious, and if not, I'd focus on the control board. If you do decide to replace the control board, I'd recommend Dinosaur Electronics as a replacement. They build their electronic boards to a higher standard than OEM with a price that's very competitive.

Keep us posted on what you find...... Good Luck !!!
