Hello from Ohio

This is our 3rd trailer, and newest. We had purchased well used trailers in the past and only lasted a couple of years. Now we have this 03 Cougar 280BH. We take our grandchildren with us on most trips so we need the room. We currently pull it with an 02 Chevy Express 3500 with a 5.7L engine, 4L80e tranny, Gear Vendors Over/Underdrive, and 4.56:1 rearend. I have to say that I wish we had a little more power.

Welcome to the forum "The Shaw Family"! I can appreciate your comment wishing for "more power". Not having the power you think you need may limit your travels to flat regions and perhaps shorter trips. On a lighter note, you could try leaving your grandchildren and all their toys at home and see if that gives you any extra pulling power. Probably not a good idea.

Grandpa's toys probably weigh more, but you can't do without them. Enjoy your new to you Cougar and your grandkids. Welcome to the forum. Travel safely, Hank
