Atwood Power Jack - Blown Fuse Location

Just had to deal with this, so thought I'd post in case anyone else has the same issue.

Was running the jack the other day (which hitching up) and fuse blew. Not a huge deal, since had the crank handle fairly handy, but a nuisance, nonetheless.

Unsure if the fuse was inside the trailer or outside, I first looked at the fuses inside - all were fine. So, then the hunt for the fuse outside. I figured it was probably an inline fuse and sure enuf. . . On my model of trailer (bumper pull Vantage 32FLS) there is a wiring cover (black plastic sleeve with slit in it) that runs along the inside of the A frame, right by the propane tanks and batteries. Inside that is where the inline fuse was located.

When I got the original, factory fuse out, I discovered it was only a 20A fuse, whereas Atwood calls for a 30A fuse. So, it's no surprise that the fuse blew. I'm only surprised that it didn't blow sooner. Luckily I had just purchased a variety pack of Bussmann AGC fuses at Walmart a few days earlier.

So anyway, two things to take away from this - have a variety of spare fuses handy, especially since Keystone may have just grabbed whatever fuse was handy, and the power jack's fuse is an inline fuse that is probably inside a wiring cover.

Good to know thanks. Are inline fuses square like the panel fuses or are they the round tubular ones?

They are, for the most part, like those found in your fuse panel - "square" rather than tubular.
