Exclamation Propane: ZOOM to the Moon

People in Michigan, Wisconsin and from Ohio reporting propane prices skyrocketing, if they can get it. Out of curiosity I called my local feed mill and talked with them. He said Amerigas called them today and were raising their prices starting Friday here, from $2.69 to $4.25 for 100# tanks and $4.50 for anything smaller. He sounded stunned, and I was also . Just thought I would share this tidbit with you folk.

Haha, I walked out at 5am and literally cringed lol. I did find an air leak in mine this morning, the oven vent, I had it locked closed, but the north wind hits it straight on and it was bowed ever so slightly from pressure of the locks apparently, allowing a nice steady air leak, dropping right into the cooking area. So I shredded a little of the extra insulation and stuffed it, to see how much difference it would make. I have been trying to track a phantom draft since I bought the trailer. The best time to find air leaks is during a hard winter storm lol, not.

Howdy All;

Price jumped up $0.26/gal. just yesterday... Now $3.00/gal.
for the 125 gallon size I use here even more for the smaller
bottles.

As cold as it's been over such a large area Supplies are coming up short.
Less availability X more demand = greater cost to end user ...

It is called price gouging. There 'oughta be a law' - actually, I thought there was. Shouldn't have to be - but, greedy businesses see a way to gouge and victimize the public. We will read about less affluent families dying of hypothermia because they couldn't afford to heat their homes - or burning their houses down while using heaters not meant for use in a dwelling. Hopefully, these greedy 'businessmen' will get what they have coming one day.....
Okay - sorry for the rant - I feel better

JACK You are right It is just greed! So far even though our cost has gone up we are holding our price! IE less of a proffet margin. something doesn't smell right with this shotrage!

Exclamation

Jindel just declared Louisiana a disaster. Freezing rain, power outages, sleet and expecting snow tonight. You guys over Florida way, need to get ready. This ultra cold air is hitting gulf moisture, instant ice storms and snow.

A good & noble gesture on your part and you should be applauded.
I don't think retailers passing along an increase is greedy. You shouldn't't have to suffer a loss. I was referring to profiteering, especially at the corporate level.
