Dac control question

I have a 2014 Silverado z71 and 2018 half ton 25res. My question is with the tow haul on and going down a hill incline the dac kicks in and the rpms go up to 3500. Will this cause a problem and hurt my engine and if so what is should do. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't know what a dac is but gas engines love to rev. High rpm is better than low but 3500 in a modern engine really isn't very high.

With all the computer controls, programmed by the manufacturers I’m BBC willing to bet what your experiencing is figured into the software. As stated above 3500 RPM in a gas V8 isn’t that high.

That's normal. My 1500 did it all the time. My 2500 doesn't as much, but she will scream when climbing a steep grade!

Dac control

I should have clarified DAC is downhill assist control. The reviving is whe we go down a steeper hill.

There are some pretty stringent requirements on the dac. Be sure to follow them. I dont think you would use it on the open road.

It kicks in on its own does that hurt my engine or should I turn off the tow haul button when descending a hill?

Turn the cruise control off... That way it's not trying to hold a constant speed..

It's not going to hurt the engine, especially when talking 3500rpm. If the ECM is kicking it in it should kick it out before it hurts anything. When that happens in my experience it just kicks it up to the next gear.
