Cougar 330RBK Bunk House Door

Hi,
So when we got our Cougar and played with some of the stuff for a while, I brought out the bunk house bed, blew up the air bed and then tried to open the bunk house door. Well with the bed out you can barely open the door. Poor design

as it opened inward of the bunk house. So I took all the trim down, the door and flipped it around to make it open from the out side. It does open toward the fridge but now I have much better access to the room if the bed is down. Here is a pick of the before... I will see If I can get a pic of afterwards...

I have that same issue in our Avalanche. I will have to measure mine to see if it will interfere with the slide in the living room. those hinges are surface mount so I am guessing the only marks are the holes on the other side of the jamb, right?

I think when I flipped it around I was able to use the same holes for the hinges in the plastic frame material... But I did have to drill a new hole in the wood frame of the door opening since the door would now be a hinge left, close on the right...
The most pain was taking the plastic frame off the door with all of those tiny staples. I re-attached the plastic molding with 1/4 staples.... Make sure when you do staple it back on that you staple the frame towards the outside of the plastic as the wood trim will cover them up...

I noticed your posting about the 330RBK. Congrats on a nice trailer. I too am looking to purchase that same fifth wheel (2013) but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. I've been figuring out my weight limits, etc. to make sure they are good to go. Can I ask how your F350 pulls your 330RBK? and have you determined the exact weights of the trailer? Any information you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Helpful info on the bunkhouse door also.

My 350 pulls the the camper just fine. I don't know the exact weights right now but I think with all our gear we are right under the limits... I usually do not tow with full tanks so that helps.... and my truck being a Diesel, not sure if that matters?

Thanks to this thread I decided to do the bunkhouse door flop myself. It was actually fairly simple. The hardest part was the plastic trim and getting the staples out.
