Campgrounds in the Reno area

We are currently making plans to visit the Reno area next September primarily to attend the Reno Air Races. The week prior to the Air races is the Reno Balloon Race. We are thinking of filling the time in between going to Virginia City, Lake Tahoe and possibly Bodie and Mono Lake.
We'd like some suggestions from those familiar with the area regarding State/County Park or Forest Service campgrounds in the area. We have reservations already for the air race week at Bordertown Casino and RV park due to its proximity to the airfield. While we're not opposed to RV parks we prefer the State/County Park campgrounds as well as Forest Service campgrounds. We are well set to dry camp as long as water is close by and don't need paved parking.
We're looking forward to any suggestions.
Thanks!

Google Stampede Reservoir RV for Reno proximity.

For Bodie, Google Virginia Lakes RV or Twin Lakes RV Bridgeport or Bridgeport Reservoir RV.

I’m closer to Bodie and Bridgeport than Reno. PM me if you have any questions.
